The creative process – how I made this embroidery hoop

While I was photographing embroidery for my new workshop “free embroidery” (sorry, no translation yet!) I came across this embroidery hoop. I made it some years ago, and it was both the first hoop I made and the first time I worked with water soluble pen. I still like it, even though I think my skills have improved somewhat since then.

This was your basic just-start-somewhere-and-see-how-it-ends-up type project. Sometimes that works out great, sometimes not so much, but in case of the latter you have at least learned something about what doesn’t work for you.

Oh and by the way: you really don’t need any drawing skills to be able to embroider. I prove this time and again 😉
