Embroidery stitches: Couching [TAST 2012 #09]

I joined the Take A Stitch Tuesday project in 2012 to teach myself embroidery and learn from others; these are my stitches.

TAST 2012 Stitch 9: Couching
I didn’t really like this stitch (or stitches, as I tried several) but I did like the effect it gave, especially on the doodle bit.
